‘Posnick Throws Complete Game Shutout for Championship Victory’

Syracuse Mens Senior Baseball League logoThe MSBL Braves defeated the Dirty Jays riding on the dominant performance of Joshua Posnick.  Posnick threw a shutout to lead the Braves past the Jays 3-0 on Sunday. Both teams were strong on the mound. The MSBL Braves pitchers struck out three, while the Dirty Jays sat down 10.

The Braves jumped out to the lead in the bottom of the second inning of the championship game after Alex Davies doubled, scoring one run, and Jovan McClatchey singled, scoring two runs.

Seve Kowalski took the loss for Dirty Jays. The right-handed pitcher went eight innings, allowing three runs on seven hits, striking out 10 and walking one. McClatchey led MSBL Braves with two runs batted in from the number nine spot in the lineup. The right-handed hitter went 1-for-3 on the day.

Number eight hitter, Davies, showed the depth of the Braves lineup by leading them with two hits in three at-bats. The Braves turned two double plays in the game and didn’t commit a single error in the field. Davies had the most chances in the field with eight. Aaron Wisniewski went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead the Dirty Jays in hits. Jon Ramos led the Dirty Jays with three walks.

Overall, the Braves had a strong eye at the plate, tallying six walks for the game. The Dirty Jays turned one double play in the game and didn’t commit a single error in the field. Eric Miller had the most chances in the field with 11.
