2023 Athletics Capture First 68+ Division Title in Sacramento MSBL

Sacramento Men’s Senior Baseball League, 68+ Division

A’s 17, Rangers 10

This was the third year of the 68+ division in Sacramento, and the first year the A’s team have won. Gary Ewbank threw seven innings of the nine innings in the championship game and was the winning pitcher.  The A’s boasted 10 guys who collected two or more hits, making it a very good offensive day all around.

The players who pounded out two or more hits were Gary Huizar, Dennis Smith, Tommy Arguijo, Ron Williams, Pat Kelly, Gordy Olson, Jerry Marquardsen, Steve Gregory, Jim Lortz, and recent MSBL World Series Hall of Fame inductee, Joe Soto.

Defensively the infield of shortstop Gary Huizar and second baseman Pat Kelly turned four double plays and one triple play!
