‘Caprio Drives in Insurance Runs with Key Double’

Seven teams battled out a two-game elimination format in the 35-over division that ended with the same two teams that faced each other in 2014 in the best of three finals. Pigs Heaven, the #2 seed, went through the winner’s bracket while 2014 champion Margate, the top seed, sustained a loss in pool play and battled back to make the finals.
In game one, the Pigs held a four run lead in the sixth inning and Margate plated three runs to stay within reach. Margate scored another two runs in the bottom of the seventh in a walk-off win for game one of the best of three format finals.
Game two featured two top left handed past Cy Young winners, Fran Casey of Margate and Rodney Valarde for the Pigs, and they didn’t disappoint. Both racked up numerous K’s and the defenses played well behind them. Chris Caprio slammed an opposite field double to drive in two runs and it was all the runs Margate needed as they held a 2-1 lead over six innings and captured their second consecutive title with a final score of 4-1.
