The 40+ Smoky Division Sugar Kings completed an undefeated post-season to claim the Championship for the second season in a row.  ‘Back-to-Back’ Championships was the goal from the onset and the ‘Kings cruised to an 18-4 regular season, culminating in that outstanding postseason run.

Mark Peterson went 3-0 in the postseason with three complete games while giving up two total earned runs in the three games. As is the case with most Championship Teams, defense starred alongside some timely hitting. Sean Prouty, Scott Sadler, and Lou Hazim each contributed two hits with Rich Seiler knocking in two with a clutch single.

Of the 16 rostered players on the 2022 squad, there is only one player under 50 in our 40+ division (and he is 49) which just shows that the “old” guys can still get it done against the youngsters!
