The Tribe never gave up. We never lost focus, we never stopped pushing, and we kept believing in each other until the very end.

With only three games left in the regular season, we were 2½ games out of first place! Everything had to fall our way; the first-place team had to lose twice, and then we had to beat them head-to-head in the final game. Against the odds, that is exactly what happened. We won that final game and took first place in the league.

Then came the playoffs and the cold weather. We won our first playoff game and then won a championship doubleheader, using every player and everything we had left to finish the job.

Being part of this team and managing the Tribe to five championships in a row is something I’ll always be proud of. A special thank-you to Matt Sherock, an unbelievable player, partner, and leader who helped keep this team together through everything.

Five straight championships didn’t happen because we never faced adversity. It happened because the TRIBE never quit!
