2026 Athletics Hold Off Snappers for AA Open Division Title at MUNY-Buffalo MSBL

MUNY-Buffalo MSBL, AA Open Division

Athletics 5, Snappers 1 (Game three in best-of-three championship series)

Submitted by Dylan Gronowski, manager

The Buffalo Athletics were established in 2015. We’ve been competing in the local AA MUNY Open Division ever since. I am extremely proud of this group of guys ranging from 16-45 years old! Everyone contributed to this year’s team success. We have high school, current collegiate, ex-collegiate, and regular guys with families out here competing against very similar teams.

My father, Coach Daryle “Earl” Gronowski, and I created the Buffalo Athletics when I turned 25, and the league was a 25+ league! Coach has been dedicated to this team well before we created the AA MUNY Buffalo A’s. Coach Earl originally created our Buffalo Athletics travel team with a bunch of my friends and me when we were ten years old back in 1999!

A handful of players have been together since we started the team, including me (Dylan Gronowski), Cameron Mitchell, Morgan Frigioni, and Jeff Velarde. Our regular season record was 14-3-1, and our playoff record was 4-2!

Six players hit .300+, and our pitching staff posted a combined 1.385 ERA, a .945 WHIP, and an opponent BA of .154 this season!
