2025 Padres Go ‘Back-to-Back’ in 52+ Division of Long Island Midweek MSBL

The Padres team won their second LIMSBL Midweek 52+ Championship in a row last Friday night, August 1, 2025.

The 2025 Padres dominated the Patriots again for their second Midweek title in a row in the LIMSBL Ty Cobb Division.

Frank LaMacchia and Ron Coan combined to lead the Padres, as they defeated the Patriots 13-7 and 8-1, clinching their second 2025 Summer Midweek Ty Cobb Division championship.  The Padres had another great season run, finishing in second place with a record of 14-2.

During the regular season, the Padres were led by Philip Echevarrio with a batting average of .714, Chris DeRosa at .630, and Jay Foehrenback at .628.

The regular season pitching standout was Steve Stortz with nine wins, Frank Esposito with three wins, and Pete Fasilli with two.

The Padres playoff run was dominated by pitcher Steve Stortz, who got both wins against the Patriots in the finals, striking out 11 batters.  Playoff batting leaders were Chris DeRosa at .727, with Rob McGee and Wayne Holzmann, both at .600.

The Padres’ continued success is due to the entire roster of players supporting and driving each other to play hard, minimize mistakes, hit and run aggressively, and throw strikes.  The team will celebrate this Championship and recognize everyone with ‘two-time’ Padres Championship Shirts!
