2025 Houston Hombres Capture 55+ Spring Championship at Houston Hardball League

The Houston Hombres won their second Spring championship in as many years, knocking off the Stars in a tight back-and-forth battle.  The Stars staked themselves to a 2-0 lead after one, but the Hombres plated two in the second to tie it up.

Steve Folk was the complete game winning pitcher and settled in on the bump, allowing only one more earned run the rest of the way.

The Hombres’ offensive leaders throughout their championship run were John Knoblauh, Sean Shaub, Mike Janacek, Jose Garcia, Ward Brigham, Shaun Coleman, and Steve Folk, each with multi-hit games throughout the playoffs.

Sean Shaub continued his torrid July hitting streak and was unanimously named tourney MVP.
