Banditos 18, Redbirds 5 (Game two in best-of-three championship series sweep)

The Banditos inaugural season was a success as they swept the Redbirds to capture the title of 2024 SOCO MSBL A Division Champion.

This season marked a return to managing for skipper Jim Gustafson, who credits the easygoing group of guys on the Banditos for the victory.

Veteran players Mark Lehman, Dave Chapman, and Scott Johnson were instrumental throughout the season, providing experience and consistency at the plate, on the field, and the mound. Key contributions also came from newcomers, including Aaron Davis, Matt Rinard, and Phil Chapin.

The Banditos claimed the 2024 MSBL A championship by sweeping the Redbirds in the series, winning decisively 12-5 and 18-5. Mark Lehman drove in four runs on three hits to lead the Banditos past the Redbirds 12-5 in game one. Lehman doubled in the fifth scoring two, doubled in the second scoring one, and doubled in the third scoring one. Dave Chapman earned the win for the Banditos. The pitcher allowed seven hits and five runs (four earned) over four innings, striking out three and walking two.

The Banditos would like to thank the Redbirds for playing us tough all year and giving us a run for our money in the Championship games. Many thanks to Bud Masion SOCO MSBL President for a great 2024 season. The 2024 Banditos season was a true display of teamwork, determination, and sportsmanship.
