2024 Sea Dogs Achieve 10th Consecutive 30+ Title in Rhode Island MSBL

Rhode Island MSBL, 30+ Division

Sea Dogs 6, Sharks 3 (Game three in best of five championship series sweep)

The Rhode Island MSBL 30+ division championship saw the nine-time defending champion Sea Dogs take on the Sharks , champions of the regular season, in a best-of-five series. The Sharks held off last season’s regular season champion, Padres by winning the best of three series in two games. The Sea Dogs won their semifinal series against a tough Bulls team in three games, setting the stage for this season’s championship.

Game one saw the Sea Dogs’ bats explode for 14 runs while pitcher Chris Zervas stymied the Sharks bats, pitching eight strong innings and holding them to one run earning the 14-1 victory.

The bats didn’t slow down in game two for the Sea Dogs. After a 7-run first inning, the Sharks were never able to muster much offense against a trio of pitching led by Jay Lee and Harrison Barlow as the Dogs cruised to a 7-4 victory.

Game 3 saw the Sea Dogs Mike “Squish” Squatrito throw 7 1/3 innings, keeping the Sharks bats off balance all day, while Tom Koch’s four hits spearheaded the Sea Dogs offense, helping the Sea Dogs win the contest 6-3, sweeping the series.

Congratulations goes out to player/manager JJ Lucido and the entire Sharks team on a terrific season and regular season championship.

Congratulations also goes out to player/manager Kevin Curt and the Sea Dogs team. With this victory, the Dogs marked their ‘10th consecutive championship’ in the 30 division!
