Season Recap:
This was the first season of the Cascade Rockies, with a host of new players to the league and a new brain trust leading the team. The season started off shaky, with the team starting 1-7 as it tried to not only find its identity and figure out how to win as a team, but to also gel as a group and become one cohesive unit. But, after that 8-game stretch, the ship began to steady and just like that, the Rockies would go 15-4-1 in their next 20 and would win the 2024 championship.
Winning the whole thing was not easy, as the Rockies would have to beat the 5th, 2nd, and 1st seeds on their way to winning it all. What makes me the most-proud of this team is that when things were looking grim and there was not much reason to be optimistic, this team kept working to improve and it got us exactly where we wanted to be.
Big shoutouts to Spencer, Bailey, and Kenny for doing so much work behind the scenes for this team. Garrett, Pino, Adams, and CO – thanks for letting us squeeze every pitch you had out of those arms all season (please ice up).
Bryn, West, Gerard, Chris (x2) for being such great bats in the lineup especially in the clutch! Aaron for being a tough SOB and getting behind the dish whenever we needed it! Lastly (but not least), Andrew, Ceddy, Willy, and Vic – I know the role you took on the team may not have been exactly what you envisioned, but this season does not happen without you all and everything you did, so thank you so much for being the great guys you are.
Every single person on this team contributed in such a big way, which is why this season will always mean so much. #ItsAGreatDayForADay
