‘Kokopellis Claim ‘Back-to-Back’ Title’

The Denver Kokopelli’s finished a perfect season (19-0) by winning their sixth MSBL 25+ National Division season title in a hard-fought 9-5 victory over the Braves.  This was their second back-to-back title in the past six years.

After spotting the Braves two runs in the first, the Kokopelli’s scored the next six runs.  The Braves scored three in the top of the seventh only to have Kokopelli’s answer with three in the bottom half.  Lou Gabel (2 for 3 with a walk, 3 runs, and 1 RBI) and Scott Holstein (2 for 3, a walk, HR, and 3 RBI) led the offense while Alex Dunn pitched another gem, going eight innings with 10 Ks).  The Kokopelli’s were again managed by Brooks Robinson in their 18th season.
