2024 Giants Post Remarkable Turnaround En Route to 45+ National Title at Milwaukee-Rock Baseball League
2024 Milwaukee-Rock Baseball League, 45+ National Division
Giants 17, Lugnuts 8 (Game three in Best-of-Three Championship Series)
The 2024 season for the 45+ Giants was a true test of resilience and teamwork. The team faced numerous challenges throughout the year, with players frequently missing time due to injuries, vacations, and work commitments. The 45+ Giants regular season record was 3-14. Despite the dismal record, the 45+ Giants competed in every game and, recognized that every game was an opportunity to improve.
It wasn’t until July that the 45+ Giants finally secured their first win, and that victory sparked a turning point. “We played our most complete game to date in that win. We used that game as a launching point for the rest of the season, but we also started to get healthy,” said Joel Hess, Manager of the 45+ Giants.
In the playoffs, the Giants faced stiff competition. They faced a strong 45+ Red Sox team, followed by a tough battle with the 45+ Lugnuts in the National Division Championship Series. In the end, the Giants emerged victorious, winning the series two games to one and capturing the title, their second in the last three years.
“It was our never-give-up attitude that truly defined this season. We battled to the final out of every game. I am so proud of this team, and we can’t wait for the 2025 season,” said manager Hess.
