It was game two of the best-of-three series between Erie-Buffalo and the Niagara Stars. The Erie-Buffalo Baseball Club won the regular season title with 12 wins and 1 loss.

In game one of the series, Erie-Buffalo used an opener to start the game. Alex Fetter opened the game going two strong innings. He was followed by Matt Keating, who went four innings, striking out seven, as Chris Vitale closed the game in the seventh. The game was close until Erie-Buffalo opened it up with five runs. Erie-Buffalo won the game 7–3.

The teams faced off for game two on Sunday, August 25th with Erie-Buffalo one victory from clinching the title. Once again, a dominant pitching performance, this time from Andrew Tobias.  Andrew threw six innings, giving up two hits, and striking out 12. Ben Capehart pitched the seventh inning. Erie-Buffalo opened the scoring in the first inning with two runs then added runs in the second through fourth innings. Jesse Zellner went 2 for 3 with a Home Run and two RBIs. The final score was 6-1 in favor of Erie-Buffalo.

The season was one of huge pitching with the staff of Matt Keating, Andrew Tobias, Chris Newman, Noah Huard, Alex Fetter, Ben Capehart, and Chris Vitale throwing six shutouts. The team’s ERA was 1.35 with 243 strikeouts in 17 games.

The offense was powered by Jordan Kowalski hitting .500 with six doubles and 17 RBIs. Eric Flynn compiled a .432 batting average with two Home Runs, Brandon Caboot hit .414, Mike Webster added a .396 batting average, and Jesse Zellner kicked in a .360 batting average, including two Home Runs. Other big contributors were Tom Anderson, Alex Seifert, Christian Cabrera, Joe Ferrando, Alex Webster, and Jim Lacki.
