‘Salty Dogs Post Unbelievable 11th Straight Title’
The 50 division of the Rhode Island MSBL featured the perennial champion Salty Dogs taking on the regular season champion Sea Dogs. The Sea Dogs jumped out to a lead in the series, beating RIMSBL Hall of Famer Dan Fitta and stifling the Salty Dogs bats.
Games two and three of the series were pitched by Norm Dumont, who threw nine innings in back-to-back games securing the championship for the Salty Dogs. This is the 11th consecutive 50+ division championship for the Salty’s, as their dominance over the 50 division continues.
