‘Livingston Throws Both Ends of Double-Header Sweep’

The Marlborough A’s are the 2023 champions in the 25+ division of the Connecticut North MSBL. They were led by the pitching of Dan Livingston who often pitched both games of a double-header and did just that in the championship series against the Southington Navigators.
Dan pitched two solid games in the best two out of three series, but Marlborough’s hitting was the big story. Marlborough won the first game 18 to 4 with a constant barrage of hits and runs. One Southington player commented by saying; “you guys came out to hit.â€
The second game was a different story with Marlborough winning 5 to 4. Southington led going into the seventh inning 4 to 3, but Jim Schultz was clutch with a two-run homer in the top of the seventh inning. That gave Dan, who was still pitching, what he needed to get the second victory.
Marlborough had a strong season winning 24 games and losing only two. Led by solid pitching they also had a batting order that pitchers did not enjoy facing. Congratulations Marlborough!
