The Long Island Patriots finished their impressive season going 9-0 by winning the 52+ Marichal Division and Championship by defeating the A’s 11-5 in a hard-fought game.  This team benefited from great pitching, hitting, and of course defense.

The Patriots were led by outstanding pitching performances by Steve Villanueva, Seth Moskowitz, and Chuck Vorhees. They averaged fewer than two runs per game, along with relief work by Danny Hsiao and Steve Aquaviva.

Throughout the season our hitters came through right from the top of the lineup. Rob Gonzalez, Chris Derosa, and Seth Moskowitz always set the table at the top of the lineup, while the middle of the lineup, led by Chuck Vorhees, Steve Villanueva, and Carlos Pasco drove them home, along with the rest of the team contributing.

It was outstanding to see everyone on this team feed off each other by playing at a high level and staying so focused on the diamond.  This season showed how dedicated and committed each player was up to the last pitch thrown in the Championship game!
