The Diamondbacks defeated the Astros 9-2 and 2-0 to sweep the 2023 championship. This was the third straight title for the Diamondbacks who have won 54 games in a row!

Josh Gagne pitched a complete game one striking out 18 batters, walking one, and giving up just three hits.

Game two was a pitcher’s duel between Astros Bobby Dow and D’back Kyle Bernier. Both teams were scoreless through eight innings before the D’backs managed to get two runs across in the ninth. Bernier finished with 11 strikeouts, allowed five hits, and walked one in his complete-game shutout effort.
