2023 Dallas Rangers Go Undefeated in Inaugural Year of 66+ Regency Division of North Texas Amateur Baseball League

North Texas Amateur Baseball League (Dallas MSBL), 66+ Regency Division

Dallas Rangers 10, Red Sox 6

Submitted by Shawn Lee, North Texas League President

The NTABL completed its inaugural Regency (66+) Division in 2023, seeing the Dallas Rangers claim the first ever championship for the new division.

Four teams took to the field that was more like a (60+) league for all intents and purposes. The Far North Dallas Orioles, Dallas Rangers, Denton Red Sox, and Plano Mariners took to the field for a 14-game season that finished with a single-elimination tournament.

The Rangers beat the Mariners, 12 to 3 in round one, while the Red Sox upset the Orioles by a score of 13 to 8. The Orioles kept their season alive with a 10 to 9 losers bracket win over the Mariners, only to fall to the Red Sox a second time after the Rangers beat the Red Sox 18 to 7 in the semifinals. The Red Sox took down the Orioles by a score of 12 to 6, and advanced to face the Rangers for the championship. The Rangers needed just one game to win the division, posting a 10 to 6 victory over the Red Sox.

The Rangers finished with a perfect overall record of 13-0 while the Red Sox finished with a 5-9 record. Congratulations to the Dallas Rangers and Manager, Jerry Casteneda!
