The Austin Angels swept the Generals Baseball Club to retake the 2023 AMBL 28+ Division ChampionshipJordan Hackett drove in four runs on three hits to lead Austin Angels past Generals Baseball Club 15-8 on Sunday. Hackett doubled in the fifth inning, scoring three runs, and doubled in the first inning, scoring one.

The Angels collected 17 hits and the Generals had six in the high-scoring affair. The Angels opened the scoring in the first after Hackett doubled, scoring one run. The Generals flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the first, scoring five runs on three hits to take a 5-1 lead. The biggest blow in the inning was a double by Nick Vautrin that drove in two.

The Generals added one run in the third, as the Angels committed an error, making the score 6-1. The Angels flipped the game on its head in the top of the fifth, scoring 10 runs on eight hits to take a 13-7 lead. The biggest blow in the inning was a double by Hackett that drove in three.

Hackett earned the win on the bump for the Angels. The reliever gave up three hits and three runs (one earned) over five and one-third innings, striking out three and walking two. Andrew Murphy took the loss for the Generals. The starting pitcher went six innings, surrendering 15 runs (five earned) on 17 hits, striking out two and walking one.

Ray Gamez stepped on the mound first for the Angels. He gave up three hits and five runs (three earned) over two-thirds of an inning, striking out none and 3 HBP. The Angels collected 17 hits in the game. Evelio Varela, Josh Wilder, Johnny Perez, Lou Urbano, and Chris Lundeen each collected multiple hits for the Austin Angels.
