The Acadiana Amateur Baseball League wrapped up its 2022 season with the League Championship Game on Sunday, June 26 at Acadiana High with the Rays dominating the White Sox, 12-1 to claim the title.

The Rays offense was consistent throughout the contest, scoring in six of the nine innings. Leading the way was shortstop Antonio Culotta who scored three runs from the lead-off spot. Catcher Dane Clark also had two hits and three RBIs while third baseman Ju’Juan Franklin (Louisiana Christian University) tallied a couple of hits, including a 2-run home run. First baseman Blain Sonnier also added two hits to the offensive attack.

However, the most impressive performance for the Rays came on the hill as starting pitcher and former UL Ragin’ Cajun Austin Bradford tossed a complete game, giving up only one run, surrendering just six hits, and striking out 14 White Sox batters.

DH Josh Delahoussaye was the bright spot for the White Sox as he went 2 for 4 with a home run and a double.

The White Sox finished the season with an overall record of 10-2 while the Rays wrap up the year at 9-3.  With this title, the Rays now have three total spring league championships in team history (2018, 2020, 2022).
