Rage baseball of the PSSBL won the Sierra Division 30+ championship in 2022 for the fourth consecutive year! Rage Baseball started over 20 years ago and they resurrected the program in 2018 joining the PSSBL in the Sierra Division. After winning the Sierra Division Championship in their first year, they combined forces with the Rainiers and have led the division ever since. 2022 brought the Rage a few new players – PSSBL All-Star pitcher Josh Richardson, catcher Cody Reed, first baseman/DH Ryan Mebust, and second baseman Brett Gilbert.

This year’s Championship game was a pitcher’s duel. Two all-stars faced off; Barron Tanay of the Mariners and Max Bayern for the Rage. Both pitchers were outstanding- pitching eight solid innings, and it came down to the bottom of the eighth with Rage trailing 3-1. Greg Conley’s lead-off walk woke up the Rage bats and propelled them to a 4-run inning. Brett Gilbert was 2-3 and drove in the go-ahead runs. In the top of the ninth, Josh Richardson threw three quick strikeouts for the save and secured the championship with a 5-3 victory.

Rage led throughout the regular season, and moved undefeated through the playoff bracket to bring home the championship for the fourth year in a row.

We can’t wait to defend our title and Rage again in 2023!
