In the 2022 summer season of the Buffalo-Muny MSBLQueen City, sponsored by ALL METAL WORKS and MELLOW SLOW MINERALS, claimed the Championship in the 25+ division by sweeping a very good team Erie-Buffalo in a best of three series. Queen City has now been in the league for six years and is made up of veteran players along with a bunch of new young talent. Queen City has become a local Dynasty and has won the title four times in the last six years.  The rivalry between Queen City and Erie-Buffalo has brought out some of the best local baseball and is always a good game to watch.

Compiling an 11-2 regular season record and sweeping the playoffs, Queen City was able to end the season on an 8-game win streak with dominant pitching, stellar defense, and timely/clutch hitting. Queen City’s powerhouse pitching staff was able to dominate in the playoffs with Connor Ryan, Joe Dileo, Dan Clifford, and Peter Grunzweig all getting wins in the playoffs.  In Game two of the Championship, Connor Ryan was able to take a no-hitter into the last inning and Peter Grunzweig came in on short rest to get the save. Gavyn Boyle’s monstrous home run late in the game sealed the deal for Queen City’s 4th title.

Queen City was able to finish the season with a team batting average of .346 with Jesse Zellner, Gavyn Boyle, Dan Luppens, Chris Cardona, Dan Clifford, Marc Dileo, Brayden Hy, Marco Morrero, and Jake Gould all having all-star seasons at the plate and defensively.  The addition of Loyal Murphy was huge to take the catcher’s role with injuries sidelining some veteran players. This season’s success was a combination of hard work and team chemistry. Every player on the team was able to contribute to this memorable season.
