2022 Grizzlies Take a Bite Out of Predators for 50+ AA Title at Southern Colorado MSBL

Grizzlies 17, Predators 9 (Game two in best of three championship series sweep)

The Grizzlies won the AA division of the Southern Colorado MSBL for the third time in the last five years.  After starting the season 1-3, they regrouped to finish the regular season 8-6. 

In the first round, they defeated the Zephyrs to advance to play the Colt 45’s who were the 2-time defending champions.  The Grizzlies prevailed with a hard-fought 10-8 win over the Colt 45s to advance to the finals against the Predators.  In the best 2 out 3 finals, the Grizzlies outlasted the Predators 8-6 in a game that saw multiple lead changes. 

In game two of the championship series, the Grizzlies won 17-9.  Throughout the playoffs, the team received strong pitching performances from Norm Churchill, Barrett Skaggs, and Bart Jennings.  Offensively the team was paced by Andy Katayama’s nine RBIs along with timely hitting from every player. This year was truly a team win!
