2022 Biscuits Outlast Liners for Best of Three Series Win and Metro Tulsa Baseball Association Crown
Metro Tulsa Baseball Association
Biscuits 10, Liners 5 (Game three in best of three championship series)
Submitted by Pat Macek, Tulsa League President
The Biscuits and Liners started off the spring season as a combined team, so it is only fitting that the two teams wrap up the 2022 Metro Tulsa Baseball Association Summer Season facing off against each other for the league championship. The two teams have built a very friendly rivalry over the past few seasons and from the Biscuits’ standpoint they love playing against them and hanging out after the game with their Liner friends.
The series was a great back-and-forth affair with the Biscuits ultimately coming out on top of the best of three championship round.
Game 1:
Liners = 5
Biscuits = 7
Winning Pitcher = Jeff Holliday
The Tulsa Biscuits stole the lead late in the game in a 7-5 victory over the Liners. The Tulsa Biscuits were down 5-4 in the bottom of the seventh inning when Joe Leake’s Sac Fly scored two runs for the Biscuits.
Game 2:
Biscuits = 2
Liners = 6
Winning Pitcher = Brett Mize
The Tulsa Liners late rally pushed them past the Tulsa Biscuits for the game two win. Tied at two apiece in the bottom of the seventh inning, the Liners pull ahead and never look back. Brett Mize tossed a nine-inning, complete-game win for the liners.
Game 3:
Liners = 5
Biscuits = 10
Winning Pitcher = Brandon Bargas
The Tulsa Biscuits scored early to grow a sizable lead, but in the end, had to hang on for the game three win after another late-game rally by the Liners to make it another exciting contest by scoring five runs in the last three innings and ending the game with the bases loaded.
