The 50+ PSSBL Everest Division Seattle Blues used strong pitching and defense coupled with timely hitting to defeat the Monarchs 6-3 in the 2021 Everest Division Championship Game at Bannerwood Sports Park to win their first Everest Division Title.
The Blues finished second in the Everest Division with a 15-7 record but caught fire in the post-season going 3-0 and beating the regular season leading Monarchs (18-4, 20-6) twice in the playoffs by scores of 12-8 and 6-3. The Blues finished with a 5-2 head-to-head record against the Monarchs.
Co-MVPs Alan Gibson and Jim DuBois combined to throw all 27 post-season innings for the Blues, with Gibson going 3-0 and DuBois saving the first playoff game against 2019 defending Champion Pilots as well as securing the final five outs in the Championship Game giving up 0 runs and only one hit. DuBois also went 4-4 at the plate with three RBI in the finale.
