2020 White Sox Win Astonishing 11th Consecutive 45+ Title in Chesapeake MSBL
Chesapeake MSBL, 45+ Division
Chesapeake White Sox 5, Chesapeake Fire 2
‘Sox Secure Eleventh Consecutive Title’
Submitted by Ron Ebelein, White Sox manager
In a strange year we call 2020 we saw the season start the first week of July when no one thought we would be playing baseball in Maryland.
The Chesapeake White Sox of the 45+ division extended its ‘Decade of Dominance’ by winning it’s 11 consecutive championship both regular season and end of season tournament. The championship game was a hard-fought battle with the Chesapeake Fire, final score 5-2.
Josh Molnar went the distance pitching nine innings to secure the victory. Joining Josh this season in the pitching rotation was Dave Cross, Wally Emrich, Steve Hoffmann, Rick Cannon, Pat Overton and Ron Ebelein.
Leading the team in hitting was Cleon Jones, Todd Perry, Dub Daniels, Phil Emrich, Kent Boles, Sweet Wayne Vance, Dave Eason, Kevin Williams, Pat Conley, Jeff Pate, Glenn Vance and Bill Radford.
The White Sox scored 218 runs versus only 52 given up over the 16 game season.
Special thanks to assistant coach Shannon O’Brien who did a wonderful job with the team stats and continues to be a great asset to the team keeping us organized on game day.
