‘Six Titles in a Row for Sea Dogs’

Submitted by Kevin Curt, Sea Dogs manager

After finishing in third place during the regular season and losing in the round robin of the 2020 championship tournament, the Rhode Island Sea Dogs won an unbelievable five straight elimination games to win the 2020 RIMSBL 30+ Division Championship.

The Sea Dogs were led through the playoff tournament by the strong starting pitching performances of Mike Squatrito and Brian Baker while Josh “Yoshi” Ferreira and Bob Barton slammed the door on each playoff victory.

In winning this year’s championship, the Sea Dogs needed to knock off the number one and number two seeds in elimination games, and beat the #2 seed Sharks in back to back games. During the final two games, the Sea Dogs outscored the Sharks 16-4 and never trailed in either game.

“This is the Sea Dogs sixth consecutive 30+ division championship and I want to congratulate the entire team in accomplishing the “six pack,” stated Sea Dogs manager Kevin Curt.
