2020 Rangers Take Best of Three to Down Lugnuts for 55+ Championship at Milwaukee-Rock MSBL

‘Drilling’s Three Hits and Oliver’s Homer Lead the Rangers’
The 55 Rangers won the MSBL/Rock League Baseball 55+ Championship by the score of 11-5! In a two-out of three format to win the championship, the Rangers and Lugnuts locked horns for three games with the Rangers pulling out game three at Milkman Stadium at the Rock.
Game one on Wednesday was won by the Rangers, 17-2. Ranger pitcher Tom Klawitter went seven innings, allowing two runs for the win. Mike Drilling and Paul Melotik had three hits apiece.
The Lugnuts took game two, 10-5 as Lugnuts pitcher Don August went 8 2/3 innings for the win, allowing only five runs to the Rangers. Al Alt had three hits for the Rangers while Mike Drilling and Terry Teske had two hits each.
In the Championship game, Tom Klawitter came back to earn the victory pitching six innings, allowing four runs. Matt SanFelippo pitched the final three innings to earn the save. Mike Drilling led the team with three hits. SanFelippo, Mickey Pruefer and Dave Globig had two hits each. Marvin Oliver hit a two-run home run. The Rangers finished the season with an 18-2 record. Congratulations to the Lugnuts for a great season, finishing the year 16-4.
