‘Series Sweep of Reds Lead Red Sox to Title’
By James ‘Jimi’ DeMartini, player/coach
A lot of us have been playing since college and back in 2011 when they created the wine country league for Sonoma County we evolved into the Red Sox. We are led by our fearless and relentless manager Mike Miller who has a lot of characteristic traits of Ty Cobb. Under his leadership and communication skills we were able to stay tight and maintain focus with our goal of winning a championship and the last game.
Peter Thorson pitched all nine innings while giving up only one run and was powered through an offense that was sparked by clutch hitting and determination to win. It was a total team effort including a lot of great defensive plays in the outfield and sparked with timely hitting and great leadership in the dugout led by our manager Mike Miller.
The Red Sox are known in the REBL but we are also a club team called the Santa Rosa Rosebud’ who we have won the 2017 and the 2018 World Series in Arizona.
