2019 Dodgers Post Great Season in Twin Cities MABL Roy Hobbs Division
Twin Cities MABL, Roy Hobbs Division
‘Dodgers Post Great 2019 Campaign’
Chad Rolfes, Twin Cities Dodgers
We were 11-1-1 in the regular season, the number one seed and scored the most runs and allowed the fewest in the league. We were led offensively by catcher Eric Johnson, who hit .525 with 18 runs, 17 rbi and six stolen bases and first baseman Mike Hinzmann, who hit .500 with 20 rbi and 12 runs.
On the mound we were led by lefty Wes Robertson, who was 5-0, 1.47 era, 43 K’s and two complete games. In the championship game we were beaten by a well-managed, very good team in the TC Skeeters. That accounted for our only loss and tie earlier in the season.
They jumped out to an early lead and every time we battled back, they kept answering with clutch 2-out hitting. Unfortunately, a 3-run homer by Eric Johnson in the eighth inning was not enough for the Dodgers. The Skeeters are managed by Tom Genrich. Ken Wangler pitched all nine innings to earn the win and pitched like the crafty veteran that he is. The TC Skeeters are a very deserving champion and represent the TCMABL with class in every way.
