‘Thompson Gets it Done on the Bump and at the Plate’

We played a three game Championship Series against the reigning 2017 Champion Milwaukee Cardinals. This was a rematch from last year’s Championship series. There is not a lot of love-loss between these two teams, given that we have been battling each other for the Championship over the last three seasons.

The Cardinals finished 16-3 and the Mud Hens finished 15-4 for the one and two seeds in 35+ championship series. The Cardinals won game one, 3-2, led by stellar pitching from the Cardinals Brain Henschel.

With their backs against the wall the Mud Hens took game two, 5-4, in extra innings (11 innings), led by heroic pitching from Travis Thompson.

In the winner take all game, the Mud Hens won 7-2, led by the hot bats of Franzen, Kindelsperger, Thompson and Knaak.
