‘Iron Pigs Climb from Worst to First for Title’

The Natural State Iron Pigs and the White Sox faced off in the finals of the 2018 edition of the Northwest Arkansas MSBL. It was a competitive game, as everyone in the league anticipated, since the prior match-ups were one run games between the two teams throughout the season. The Iron Pigs beat the White Sox with timely defensive plays, key hitting and a great outing by Brandon Taylor, who threw a complete game in the 6-4 championship victory.

The Iron Pigs beat a much improved Arkansas Cardinals team in the semi-finals by the same score of 6-4. This is only the second season for the Iron Pigs, after a first season of only winning three games. Through hard work and a few key additions we went from being a bottom dweller to the champs with a record of 15-3. This season was riddled with injuries for the Iron Pigs with some key players getting injured throughout the season, but the team never stopped their pursuit of the championship. It was a great year with these guys and I can’t wait for many more to come.
