In their inaugural season playing in the highly competitive Detroit MSBL 45+ Hughes Division the Great Lakes Orioles finished in first place with a dominating 22-1-1 record. They then plowed through the playoffs with an impressive 4-1 record, winning the three game Championship Series two games to one over the Great Lakes Tigers. In the playoff round the highly potent Orioles offense scored 41 runs, while the defense only allowed 14 in the five playoff games. The final record for the 2018 45+ Orioles was an impressive 26-2-1.

Leading the offense for the 45+ O’s with 60 or more at bats, were Brian Baumann (.563), Jamal Womble (.479), Joe Brusseau (.475), Keith Opalach (.446), Matt Enciso (.441), Gary “Budda” Alatchanian (.435), Bobby “Doc” Graham (.423) and Major Murray (.400). Eric Stanczak and E.L. McGoy tied for the lead in doubles with seven apiece. Keith Opalach led the team with 31 RBI’s. The O’s scored 281 runs during the regular season and batted .448 as a team.

Mike “Favo” Favoretto led the O’s pitching staff with an impressive 12-1 record, 1.53 ERA and WHIP of 1.06.
