‘Kinney and Assmann Get it Done on the Bump’

Game one saw an excellent pitching match-up of the Brewer’s Dave Kinney and the Dirty Jay’s Tommy Spinner. The Brewers got out to an early first inning 2-run lead with a Dave Kinney double and RBI singles from Rob Allen and Gavin Bertram. Tom McLaughlin added two RBIs in the contest. Rob Allen went 3 for 3 with three runs scored and two RBIs in the game. Dave Kinney threw an amazing 18 strikeout, complete game giving up zero earned runs in the contest.

In game two, Mike Assmann got the win throwing eight innings and surrendering only four hits and one earned run. Dave also went 3 for 3 with an RBI and run scored. Dan Kernan added a 2-run home run to break up a 2-2 game that gave the Brewers a lead and they didn’t look back.

The Syracuse Brewers, managed by Rob Allen, won their second title in a row and their seventh championship in nine years.
