‘Pirates Repeat in 55+ Division’

The San Diego Pirates won their second 55+ South Division
championship in a row in the North County MSBL. The Pirates posted an undefeated season.
The Pirates won behind their staff ‘ace’ Jose Luis ‘Chino’ Rodriguez. In previous seasons Chino had been the Pirates starting catcher and has just converted to the mound. In the championship game he allowed only one earned run over his complete game of nine innings. For his efforts in the 9-2 victory over the Cerveceros, Chino was named the unanimous MVP.
