2017 Pro Bats Yankees Claim League Championship in Chautauqua MSBL

The 2017 edition of the Pro Bats Yankees won the Chautauqua MSBL League Championship for the second consecutive year with an 11-4 record, a team I am happy to be a part of.  I am extremely proud of the fact that this is the 25th anniversary of the league, which I am happy to mention I started all those years ago, and the Yankees won the very first championship and now we did it again 25 years later. The Yankees are a father/son entry in this very competitive league, which makes this even more special.

Joe Pantano led the team and league with a .654 batting average. His hitting andoutstanding defense at shortstop was a huge part of our success.  Joe Polichetti hit .421 while Matt Pantano was right behind with .419.  Matt Eaker led the pitching staff with a 5-1 record.

Timely hitting and strong defense were the keys to success this year.  Rich Hofer, Stoney Woodard, Jason Howard and Brent Carmello were solid two way players all season.

A special thanks to Steve Pantano who was the glue that held it all together as our team manager.  His passion for baseball and organizational skills are much appreciated.
