‘Ackman Shuts Out Dodgers for Complete Game Repeat Victory’

The Twin Cities MABL Cubs won their second straight 35+ League Championship by defeating the Dodgers 4-0 behind starter Nate Ackman’s complete game shutout victory. John Barbella pitched a complete-game, 5-2 victory over the Grays in the semifinal and Burnie Rossum earned the team’s first-round playoff win.

The Cubs were led offensively all season by team MVP, center fielder Steve Bubb (.379 avg., led team with .950 OPS, 25 hits, 26 runs, 21 steals and 20 RBI) and league batting champion, second baseman Devin Kubik (.541 avg., 1.077 OPS, 23 hits, 21 runs, 20 steals and 13 RBI). Nine Cubs hit better than .350 and the team established new season records for runs (181), steals (94), batting average (.367), OBP (.442) and slugging percentage (.428) over 16 total games.

Pitcher Jon Barbella led the staff with a 2.21 ERA and four wins and Nate Ackman notched 21 strikeouts.

The TCMABL Cubs have won seven division crowns, made seven championship game appearances and won three league titles.
