‘Pennings Throws Compete Game Victory, Fans 15’

The Mid-Iowa Bandits claimed their second consecutive Mid-Iowa Baseball League 18+ Division Postseason Championship with a 5-2 victory over the Des Moines Thunder. Matt Pennings threw a complete game, striking out 15. Jake Epsteen went 3-3 for the offense out of the lead-off spot.

Jimmy Six pitched the Bandits into the championship game the day before throwing a 2-0 complete game shutout over the Des Moines Cardinals, striking out 18 as well.

This is the Bandits second title in our ninth season of playing in the Mid-Iowa Baseball League. We battled a lot of injuries this season but when the lights were brightest, we were at our best again.
