‘White Sox 3-Peat’

Submitted by Stephen King, White Sox manager

Despite injuries to key players and typical Arkansas rainouts, the White Sox were able to persevere and peak at the right moment. The road to the championship was not an easy one this year. The rise of the rival Pirates and continued improvement and success of all teams in our league made for more parody throughout the league.

It took dominant pitching by veterans Zach Davis and Charlie Kreps to help the White Sox push toward their fifth championship in six years. As a manager for this team, the hardest part this year was making out a lineup with such talented men. However, having the foundation and experience of vets like James Snyder, Kent Gartin, and Kreps the White Sox continue to be competitive and win at this level. Newcomers such as Ian Levine, Zach Pringle, Jake Sullivan, and Mark Chandler provided more depth at positions that was not available in previous years. With a middle infield led by Seth Hyder’s glove at shortstop, the White Sox received invaluable contributions from Chris McNulty as a reserve infielder and our most dependable middle reliever throughout the championship run.

As always the White Sox are built around pitching depth, solid defensive play, and an undoubtable knack at hitting any baseball thrown our way. This team was a pleasure to manage regardless of the outcome. The team would not be in this position had it not been for a few players who unfortunately had their seasons cut short due to injury so a big thanks to Steven Lucas, Tyler Jewell, and Scott Bennett. Also, thanks goes to our out-going commissioner Randall Guard for a wonderful season.
