‘Upstart Orioles Defeat Favored Pirates to Take Title’

The Orioles won the East Carolina Amateur Baseball League 2016 Championship. The upstart Orioles, who only formed a team in mid-June and were led by new manager Lewis Price, won the playoffs Sunday afternoon defeating the Pirates 14 to 2. The Pirates were an impressive 15-3 in regular season play. Manager Price had his team sharp, cohesive and ready to play and PLAY they did, demonstrating sparkling defense and timely hitting. Congratulations to the Orioles!!!!
