‘Pirates Claim Title in First Year in league’

What a year for the Pirates! This first year 30 and over team came together to go on a six game winning streak to tie the division leader and then win the New Mexico MSBL league championship. Behind pitchers Bryan Deshayes and Rich Morrison, our lead-off hitter and season MVP, the Duke City Pirates finished off the division leading Colt 45’s. Final score 7 to 3.

In the championship game we benefited from clutch hitting from the bottom of the lineup to get runners on base. Then Rich Morrison hit a three-run homer in the seventh inning to seal the win. We posted solid defense all year from Richard Ullibari and Gabe Maes, which got us to the Championship. Congratulations Pirates!
