‘Giants Post Solid Season in Capital District MSBL

We (New York Giants) almost captured our fourth consecutive Capital District MSBL 45+ championship and sixth in eight years. “Pitching & Defense” is what I preach. …….you can’t give away outs on defense and walks will kill you!

For the past seven years our pitching and defense has won championships. In this the eighth year, the Bombers out-pitched us and outplayed us on defense. They deservedly won the championship. We respectfully tip our hats to Mark Marshall and Lex Herrlett as all of the guys on the Bombers!

My Giants have a bunch of players that deserve to be in our CDMSBL Hall of Fame: Jim Konstantakis, Joe Burns, Ron Smaka and Bob Bolt to name a few. They are all high quality ballplayers and people. I’m very proud to be part of our team and associating with these guys outside of baseball.

We’ll give it another shot in 2017 and of course we live by Crash Davis’ words:

1) We gotta play ’em one day at a time.
 2) I’m just happy to be here. Hope I can help the ball club.
3) I just want to give it my best shot, and the good Lord willing, things will work out.

Here’s a picture (below) of some of us volunteering for Thanksgiving setting up the First Presbyterian Church for the 500+ dinners Equinox serves to those who are homeless or otherwise would not have a Thanksgiving meal. We’ve been volunteering there since 2009.
