‘Golden State Pirates Finish With a Bang’

Our 40+ National division winter/spring Pirates team of the Sacramento MSBL consists of mostly guys that have been playing together for quite some time, along with a few new faces added into the mix.

Our season started out slow, unlike most other Pirates seasons. We began 1-6 and had lost a couple of tough ones that could have gone either way. About mid-season we were healthy, players were meshing well with one another, and we started our run! We ended the season 6-7-1 with a five game winning streak. The Pirates were back!

We were seeded low in the playoffs and won our first playoff game. Next up were the top seeded Phillies. Our pitching, defense, and batting was on point and we rolled in that game. The Championship game was against our main division rivals the 51’s. It was a hard fought game, as all of our games are with them, and we came out on top to finish the Winter/Spring season with an eight game winning streak. All in all this was a very satisfying season for the Pirates. I couldn’t have asked for a nicer group of guys. Everyone played hard and as a team we were able to come together at the right time!
