‘Hahn Gem Propels Modoc Over Cardinals’
Submitted by Chris Cec, Dallas Modoc manager
Steve Hahn tossed a shutout to lift the Modoc to a 4-0 win over the Dallas Cardinals for the North Texas Amateur Baseball League 35+ Veterans Championship.
Hahn put together a nice outing. Hahn gave up just one hit, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out five during his seven innings of work. Steve was lights out throwing 68 pitches 53 of which where strikes.
Kirk Sipila took the loss for the 35+ Dallas Cardinals. He lasted just three innings, walked three, struck out three, and allowed two runs.
The Modoc didn’t relinquish the lead after the second inning. After a Jason Rae single, Spencer Sherrard’s double moved Rae to third. Mark Moore’s sacrifice fly scored J Rae. Sherrard scored from second with some great base running on an errant throw to first trying to get Paschal.
The Modoc matched its one-run fourth inning with one more in the fifth. In the fourth, the Modoc scored on a passed ball, plating Moore.
