New Orleans Adult Baseball League
Slidell Cardinals 2, Nola Riot 1
‘Babin Outduels Creppel in Game for the Ages’
Submitted by James Brossette, New Orleans League President
What in most eyes of all league members and fans should not have even been a contest between the #6 seed Nola Riot and the three time defending league champion #2 seed Slidell Cardinals turned out to be one of the best games ever played in the 25 year history of the league. It also netted the Cardinals their fourth consecutive league championship in the New Orleans Adult Baseball League.
The Slidell Cardinals defeated the Nola Riot 2-1 in a great pitchers duel between two lefties, the Cardinal’s Brian Babin and the Riot’s Daniel Creppel. The two pitchers threw great and were backed up by fantastic defense from both teams. Babin got the best of Creppel both on the mound and by driving in both of the Cardinals runs. The Riot had a chance in the top of the ninth inning but Babin worked his way out of a bases loaded one out jam to get the win.
