‘Re-designed Indians Find a Way’
Submitted by Jon Vitale and Brent Coyle, Indians Managers.
The road to the championship was not an easy one. Having lost over 60% of the team including the manager from the previous year, and unable to field a team with who was left, the team had their work cut out for them. Second year player Jon Vitale took the helm and with the backing of recent transplant and former manager from Orlando, Florida Brent Coyle, jumped on the situation to get the team back on track, and it started with a name change. The previous team didn’t have enough uniforms left to outfit a starting lineup, let alone a full roster, but with the help of Under Armour and New Era Cap, the Seattle Indians were born. Next up, PLAYERS! Leveraging some connections from the former manager and a few work buddies, the Indians were able to field a starting nine, but the draft was where Jon and Brent landed the depth, chemistry and never quit attitude that eventually won the Division.
While a division win is a huge accomplishment, the 2014 runners-up, Cascade Brewers, managed by the highly respected Dan Burbank, stood in the Indians way for a championship. Staying red-hot from the regular season, the Tribe swept the Brewers in the best of three series outscoring them 26-7. Overall the Indians outscored their opponents 44-18 in all five playoff games, living up to the team motto, “ROLL TRIBE!”. From a team in pieces to Champions, the Indians are proud to represent the Cascade Division and legendary Commissioner, Joseph Townsend who makes our division the most competitive in the league.
