‘Winstead and Rice Contain the Angels’

The Willamette Valley Reds finished off a perfect season with a 21-6 win over the Angels in the 40+ Division Championship game of the Willamette Valley MSBL. The game was tied at five apiece through five innings but the Red’s offense picked up the pace to score 16 more runs. Pitchers David Winstead and Mikki Rice kept the Angels in check, while third baseman Mark Baker continued his hot hitting throughout the contest. Baker led the league in hitting this season, batting .605 for the season. The win keeps a two year winning streak by the Reds, formerly the Dodgers.

WV Reds       15-0

Angels             6-9

Red Sox          5-10

Beavers           4-11
