‘Four Runs in Ninth Seals Walk-off Victory’

The Long Island Metro Cardinals won their first Long Island MSBLChampionship capturing the 25+ Pro A Divisional Title.

The Cardinals “Never Quit” attitude was on display in both their Semi-Final and Finals Playoff Series. Trailing by ten runs in game three of our Semi-Final round, we fought back to capture a 16-15 victory. In game three of the Finals, down 6-3 in the ninth, we scored four runs for a thrilling 7-6 walk off Championship win over the Long Island Monarchs.

The year started with some new players joining a core of Cardinals that have played together for 10+ years. The chemistry was perfect and new guys accepted the Cardinals motto of “Enjoy the Journey: Play every game with passion and respect and enjoy the competitive baseball we are still playing at this stage of our lives.”
