Submitted by Rick Park, Mariners manager

The Everest Mariners of the 55-over Everest Division of the Puget Sound Senior Baseball League in Seattle won their third Championship in four years. This was also their second consecutive championship. In the championship game the Mariners defeated the Silver Foxes 9 to 5 behind the great pitching of Brian Pattillo. A home run was hit by Marc Graef and a triple was hit by Larry Barlow. Gary Van Cleave set the game on fire with five stolen bases.

The game featured many great defensive plays by outfielders Bob Barker, Marc Graef and Charles Jeffers of the Mariners. The game also featured a diving catch by third baseman Tim Haek that was as good as Brooks Robinson! The Silver Foxes were led by steady play from Bob Hope, Paul Tolefson and Ken Combs.
